Love Actually

This is a Christmas film that you can watch anytime of the year. It is a compilation of several stories about the crazy ways that love affects us all. Being that it is set around Christmas time, the energy throughout the film reflects the season. There are characters that are woefully depressed, some that are scared, and many that seem to be a bit lost. It is a great film to watch when you are in the mood for some humor with your tears. Also lovely to pop in around the holidays to get you into the spirit of the season while still having fun while you do it.

Saturday Movies The Devil Wears Prada

The Devil Wears Prada

This is a film about getting your first real job, and hating almost everything about it. The grunt work, the being always at the bottom of the totem pole. And to make matters worse this job is in the fashion industry, so you are always overweight. This film is entertaining with exotic clothes to treat your eyes. It has the feeling of working, but with a more glamorous appeal, even with the horrible bosses. And of course the character grows throughout the movie so that she learns what she is really worth.

Saturday Movies Crossroads

Crossroads

We try not to pass opinions on movies around here. But this movie shows Britney Spears as the valedictorian of her high school, on a trip to find her mother, and find herself. The story itself isn’t so bad, its just unbelievable casting. Did you know that Zoe Saldana is in this movie? So, if you are home alone and need a pick me up…maybe this movie. If you enjoy Britney spears and are her biggest fan, this movie. If you are having bad movie night with friends, also this movie.

Saturday Movies Just Married

Just Married

This is a movie about a couple in love right after getting married. Once they go off on their honeymoon, that is when the real problems begin. This movie examines the ups and down of young relationships, and trying to find a way to find the happiness that you are looking for. A good old fashioned girls night kind of movie, and for those who love a romantic comedy.

Saturday Movies Guess Who

Guess Who

A modern take on the classic film, *Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner*. This film is a comedy that is easy and entertaining to watch. It is some what formulaic, which can be a comforting thing in case you don’t want any surprises. A good movie for a night at home when you don’t have any particular place to go or thing to do.

The Five Year Engagement

This is a laugh out loud romantic comedy about waiting for the right time…that never comes. Even though there is some slapstick comedy in this film, there are also some touching aspects that made the longing feel relevant and realistic. There are even the, “I can’t believe that they got married before you” scenes. This movie seems like the kind of story that you want to be able to tell to your grandchildren about how you met, lost each other, then found each other again.
