Beast of No Nation

This powerful film is set in Ghana during a civil war. We follow Agu, a young boy who has grown up in a loving family. As the rebels force terror into their village Agu’s family attempts to flee. Through a series of circumstances Agu finds himself alone and scared finding that his only way to survive is to become a child soldier. This group of child soldiers are lead by a charismatic and vicious commander who demands the most of them. This is an intense film that tackles a weighty subject. It is one to watch when you are looking for something real and deep that makes you ask the big questions.
