Max works as a cobbler in his lower East Side shop in Manhattan. He has inherited the family business, and feels as though he has lost out on a life that he would truly want. When his stitching machine fails, he is forced to use his father’s old one in storage. To his surprise, when he puts on the shoes of his patrons he becomes them. Max is empowered to try out life from different angles through is patrons, and learns some secrets about his own family in the process.
