This is a documentary about a group of Europeans who moved to the Galapagos Islands in the early 1930’s. During their time on the Island, there are different groups of people who chose to settle there. This is usually to the chagrin of the current residents, as their reasons for moving to the island is to get away from civilization and all its trappings. The tensions between the residents remain intact until unexplained disappearances of some of the inhabitants. This documentary is intriguing as well as a philosophical look at what thoughts and behavior are inextricably linked to being human. It is also an interesting look into an experiment to leave society behind and see what its like to rough it out on your own.
